Herbal Dog Co began, quite simply, at a kitchen table. In 2017, Gemma set out to create something she couldn't find — products made with care, clarity, and a considered approach to ingredients. What started as small-batch formulations made around the kitchen table for her own dogs quickly became something more.
Today, Herbal Dog Co is recognised as a leading British dog herbalist brand, with every product still made in the UK. While the scale has grown, the philosophy has not. Gus is Gemma’s French Bulldog and very much her shadow — always close by and never far from attention. Known for his handsome looks and big personality, His daily go-to is our toothpaste in a tub because let’s just say, his breath isnt always bringing fresh vibes.

Summer is one of Hazel’s frenchies and Gus’s sister. She lost her eye in 2025 and has never let this stop her living life to the fullest. She fully believes she’s a baby and will happily be carried around to prove it. When the warmer months hit and she starts getting a bit scratchy, the itchy dog spray is her daily go-to.

BamBam aka Bamela Anderson is Hazels British Bulldog, but in her head she’s a baby hippo with places to be. Rescued from Midlands Cleft Rescue, she lives for the beach, mud, and launching herself into water… She never stays white (or dry) for long, so dry shampoo is her daily go to after walks

Gigi is Gemma’s Frenchie, rescued from Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter after being found as a stray. Her skin was a bit of a mess when she first arrived and can still get dry and flaky, so the skin and fur supplement is her go-to supplement to keep her coat soft and shiny alongside our immune blend.

Minnie is Hazel’s fluffy Frenchie and the newest addition, rescued in 2026 from Midlands Cleft Rescue and allegedly her last dog.
Born with a cleft palate and dermoid cysts on her eyes, she had a tougher start than most.
With all that fluff, the daily brushing spray is her go-to, keeping her long coat looking its best.

Apple is Gus and Summer’s mam and one of Hazel’s Frenchies
She’s completely obsessed with Hazel, follows her everywhere, and isn’t shy about it. She’s very active, loves her walks, and is basically a mountain goat in a Frenchie body. Her go-to is our joint supplement, keeping up with her active joints.

Marshmallow is one of Hazel’s Frenchies and a very special little dog. It was touch and go when she was born, and she had to be tube fed as a tiny puppy. She’s small, looks exactly like a marshmallow, and is full of quirks including her little twitch and a strong dislike of having her feet touched, which makes nail clipping a bit of a battle. She also lost her eye just three months after Summer so she’s now rocking one very expressive boggle eye. Her go-to is the calming tonic, especially for vet visits helping take the edge off when things feel a bit overwhelming for her.

Honey is one of Hazel’s Frenchies and very much lives up to her name — as sweet as they come. She’s 10 now, super soft, and loves nothing more than a good cuddle.

Rhubarb is one of Hazel’s Frenchies and a very loving little character . and she’s not afraid to use her voice! She’s also known for being the gassiest of the bunch, so her go-to is a daily spoonful of our gut supplement keeping the air around her a little more enjoyable.

Benson was Gemma’s first bulldog, and he came with his fair share of challenges particularly with his skin and yeast overproduction.
It was because of him that Herbal Dog Co exists. Gemma began creating her own lotions and blends at home to support his skin, carefully choosing gentle ingredients she felt confident using alongside vet guidance.
Those early creations, made with Benson in mind, went on to shape the brand into what it is today.

Cliff is one of Hazel’s Frenchies and had a more challenging start than most, having been born with a cleft palate. Because he was so poorly as a puppy, he missed out on early socialising, which has shaped how he responds to the world around him.
He can find certain situations overwhelming, particularly around other dogs, so keeping things calm is key. His go-to is our calming tonic alongside the calming supplement, helping him feel more settled day to day.
