How to spot worms in dogs
As dog owners, one of our fears is that they will catch worms at some point or another. Whilst treatable, it can be incredibly uncomfortable and painful for the dogs and is something they can catch rather easily. Whilst you may do what you can to protect them, they become infected with worms by eating worm eggs that come contaminated soil, stools or by eating infected rodents or by fleas.
Typical signs that your dog has worms include:
- Scratching or rubbing of rear.
- Visible worms in vomit.
- Diarrhoea, particularly with blood.
- You may also be able to see the worms visibly in their stools or their rear
- Bloated stomach or belly.
- Weakness, increased appetite, constant hunger, and weight loss.
